Courtney Ryan is an Emerson College graduate who began her career on acclaimed feature films including The Town, Shutter Island, and Moonrise Kingdom. She went on to mentor under legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins, honing a cinematic style rooted in storytelling and visual authenticity. After five years in feature filmmaking, Courtney shifted into the commercial world, directing travel and lifestyle content for brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Puma, the Girl Scouts, Verizon, and Holland America. Her work reflects a signature blend of adventure, warmth and humanity.

 

When she’s not behind the camera, Courtney is out living her best New England Life—splitting time between Boston and their A Frame in Maine. She lives with her husband, cinematographer Patrick Ryan, and their sons Hunter & Ryder.
